In Bilbao, city policy-makers, practitioners and managers that are part of the European Consortium In Focus - Smart Specialisation at City Level, developed in the context of the URBACT III programme, shared the results achieved after two years of implementation.

Besides Porto, the other cities involved in the project are Bilbao (Spain), Bielsko-Biala (Poland), Bordeaux (France), Bucharest (Romania), Frankfurt (Germany), Grenoble-Alps (France), Ostrava (Check Republic), Plasencia (Spain) and Turin (Italy).

The fundamental goal of this consortium is to provide practical support to defining a smart strategy specialization and for the RIS3 Method.

Porto City Hall took part in the conference through InvestPorto, the municipal company in charge of outlining an Integrated Action Plan regarding the In Focus Consortium. The purpose is to build a sharing knowledge and best practices network, providing opportunities for interacting and building capacity, regarding innovation, industry, economy and entrepreneurship policies.

Porto was one of the invited cities to the conference "Competitive Italian Cities: Valuing new realities" in Milan, Italy. The cities of Amsterdam, Stockholm and Barcelona also participated in this conference, sharing economic, touristic and commercial viewpoints.
