The performance "Post-Colonial Love" delves on the meaning of love in the framework of the colonial and post-colonial period, launching the reflexion on what love is as a political and utopian concept.
It will take the stage at Theatre Campo Alegre, on 10 and 11 May, at 7pm and 10pm, respectively.

"Amores Pós-Coloniais" [Post-Colonial Love] marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hotel Europa, extending its research series on colonialism into the theme of love.

The Hotel Europa features a documentary on the violence of colonialism and its bearings on love relationships, through archival research and the gathering of testimonies of white Portuguese men who have had children with black African women in war time, of white Portuguese women who fell in love with black Africans from Liberation Movements, and also of couples from African and Eastern Europe countries.

Hotel Europa is a company formed by André Amálio and Tereza Havlí?ková, from Portugal and the Czech Republic, respectively. The Company features performances on popular and classic culture, from dance to theatre.
