Redesigning the São João hammer and wining 1000 euros

This will be the seventh edition of the São João Plastic Hammer Contest, one of the symbols of the São João festivities.

The motto for this year's edition is "São João Hammer, so that I want you?"

The event is promoted by the Youth Association, jointly with Porto City Hall and the Millennium BCP Foundation. The main goal of this contest is to boost creativity and encourage everyone's participation in the redesigning of this iconic São João symbol and make it as much as possible unique.

The competition is open to every citizen, of all ages, Portuguese or foreign.

Projects will be selected based on creativity, originality, experimentalism, artisan spirit, jam, bearing on the matter, iconography of the city and lore of the São João festivities.

The maximum of three proposals can be submitted to the competition, referring to the same category or to different ones, namely objects, 2D and video.

The winner of each different category will receive a prize money worth 1000 euros.

The selected projects will be part of the Final Contest Exhibit, which will run from 7 to 30 June at Palácio das Artes - Fábrica de Talentos.
