According to Ryanair, Porto Airport will become the third hub to provide the airliner connecting traffic flows after Roma Fiumicino and Milão Bergamo airports in Italy.

Flight efficiency, advantageous geographical location and important dimension are the main reasons why Porto airport was selected as Ryanair's new hub.

At a press conference at Lisbon Web Summit, Ryanair's marketing department manager, Kenny Jacobs, stated that from January 2018, Porto will serve 20 destinations. This means that passengers will receive luggage to the place of destination, regardless the number of stopovers.

This is not a common procedure on low-cost flights, in which baggage has to be retrieved on stopovers, and be check-in again.

"Porto Airport provides efficient flight set-up and operation and it is of important size", noted the airliner's official cited by Portuguese news agency Lusa. Porto is present on the Web Summit in Lisbon with a view to ensuring the city and the region's promotion and also to recruit the finest talent.

"Porto. For Talent" is the motto of the city boosted by the municipality, via Invest Porto and ScaleUp Porto, with UPTEC, ANJE and Porto Design Factory.
