Serralves shows what is biodiversity and why does it matter to us

The Serralves Foundation celebrates biodiversity in its Park with the Bioblitz, an imitative that take place from 1 to 7 April. This is the 6th edition aims at promoting education for sustainability leading initiatives in the field of the environment and raising awareness on the Serralves Park biodiversity.

The event is open to schools, families and the public at large, enabling the discovery of both the fauna and flora of the 18 hectares of the park, which was designed by the French architect Jacques Gréber.

The Bioblitz includes scientific and pedagogical workshops, boot camps with scientist of the CIBIO-InBIO - Centre for Research in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources, thematic games, and the show "Água", by the Cultural Cooperative Circolando.

The first days of April, from 1 to 5 April, are reserved to schools, and feature workshops on tem environment themes.

As usual, the weekend, on 6 and 7 April, the programme invites everyone who wishes to take part.

Entry is free, although some activities require previous application.
