You don't want to miss the next rendez-vous with contemporary art in town! Saturday, April 21, Miguel Bombarda art district opens another session of Simultaneous Openings featuring 17 new exhibits.

There will be guided tours to the galleries, workshops for audiences of all ages, as well as a parallel programme of activities organised by municipal company PortoLazer.

The core objective is to make Bombarda District a space for the collaborative creation and experimentation of contemporary art projects. This year's programme includes a collaboration with Superior College of Music and Arts of Porto (ESMAE) that will present a project developed in the school year 2016/2017, authored by graduate students.

Also Balleteatro will put forward artistic projects designed by students.

PARALLEL PROGRAMMING

Bombarda Stop & Go - Guided pedestrian tours to Galleries

Timetables: 4 pm-5 pm; 5.30 pm-6.30 pm (nearly one hour duration)

Maximum number of persons per tour: 30 (divided into 2 groups, each taking 15 participants)

Starting Point: Miguel Bombarda Street (pedestrian area by the Porto. stand)

Prior registration is required: by 1 pm on 20 April, via email stopandgo@portolazer.pt, or at the site on the Opening day, starting at 4 pm, in which case, only registration for the second tour is possible (5.30 pm-6.30 pm)

Printing Techniques Workshop - miniature shaped tiles (Chapa Azul)

Inspired in the tile covered facades of Porto.

Timetable: 4 pm-7 pm

Toy's Construction Workshop - Bonecos Bailarinos (Simão Bolívar)

Simão Bolívar is a master when it comes to creating and building toys and he will inspire experts in the art of playing.

Timetable: 4 pm-7 pm

Site: Pedestrian area of Miguel Bombarda Street (next to the Porto. Stand)

Performance - "FECTUS_Um ponto de vista feminino" [A feminine viewpoint]

This project was created in 2017 under the drama curriculum plan of the Teatro da Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo. It is based in the classic "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll, as a performative challenge.

Timetable: 5 pm-5.20 pm; 6.30 pm-6.50 pm

CARTAZ / Ema Ribeiro (O! Gallery)

The banner of this edition, the third in 2018, is based in an illustration by David Penela, graduated in Visual Arts by the faculty of Fine Arts of University of Porto and represented by O! Gallery. The artist used the risograph printing technique.
