Porto Botanical garden will shine bright starting on 24 June, with the installation of a one-kilometre route that features 20 light experiences, sound environments, videomapping projections, and a world of illuminated dinosaurs. This nature immersive experience is called "Magical Garden".

Porto is gradually going back to offering animated suggestions, jointly with the University of Porto that celebrates its 110th anniversary this year, with the next suggestion in the agenda being the “Magical Garden” event in the Jardim Botânico, where families and friends, children and grownups alike will have the opportunity to experience reality and fantasy, nature and special effects all at the same place and surprisingly combined to astonish every mind and blow away any heart.

Hundreds of giant lanterns and micro mapping, light design and interactive experiences lead visitors through different historic cultures and even encounters with felines, dinosaurs and plants and exotic scenarios. Everything is done following the safety protocols issued by the DGS.

This newest nocturnal experience conquered over 70 thousand visitors in Lisbon and it will now be presented in Porto, in partnership with Porto City Hall and the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto.

The event opens on St John’s Day and there is a special ticket campaign, with 10 euro tickets available from 24 to 27 June.

The Magical Garden Porto welcomes visitors after dusk, from Thursday to Sunday, until 3 October. Ticket prices range from 8 to 15 euros, and there are special family tickets (two adults + 1 child between 4 and 17 years old). Residents in the district of Porto, senior citizens, students, people with reduced mobility, and youth aged 4 to 17 years old are also granted special discounts. Children up to three years old have free entry. Information at the website’s ticket office or via the email info@magicalgarden.pt

This event is organised by the Portuguese creativity studio OCUBO, and it is in line with the best animated suggestions in town that offer a technological and an educational component to it, as is the case of the Immersivus Gallery, the first immersive art gallery in Portugal, set up in Porto Customs, which is currently featuring the event "Porto Legends - The Underground Experience", as well as other temporary immersive exhibitions on some of the greatest painters ever such as Monet, Klimt or Michelangelo and Da Vinci.
