Surf competition brings sea spray to Porto this May

The top-notch surfers of Portugal will head to Praia Internacional in Porto, from 17 to 19 May, to take part in the third round of the Liga Meo Surf 2019, a qualifying stage for the National Championship. Mark the date on your calendar to watch some of the best surfers take to the waves!

The round, known as Renault Porto Pro, is to be held in the Invicta by the 14th consecutive year and it is one of the highpoints of the Porto & Matosinhos Wave Series 2019, of the contest surf calendar, supported by Porto and Matosinhos. The window dates will be officially announced on 27 February.

The championship winnings have increased to 100 thousand euros, and the first round takes place the first weekend of March, in Ericeira. The second round is held in Figueira da Foz, then Porto and then the Algarve. The final round is in Cascais, on 3, 4 and 5 October.
