The Port Wine Museum is one of the great museums in town. And, on 5 March it will open in a new location and building, in the riverside front of a fantastic venue that confirms the century-old link between the wine and the river.

It will reshape Porto landscape, enhancing one of the greatest symbols of the Invicta.

It is the New Museum of Port Wine, but it will stand on the tradition and heritage that belong to Porto for centuries, framed in the old "Muro dos Bacalhoeiros", where visitors will savour an ancient history, built of the resilience and boldness of the northern people. The people from Porto.

The building design is the result of the mastery of architect Camilo Rebelo, and the singularity is the museum's black façade, which does not come randomly as black is the colour that preserves the wine and leads to Port wine grandeur.

Also, the aim is that this museum should not be a static artwork, per se, but rather a sensory experience, with over 700 wine labels to enjoy.

This and other novelties will be disclosed on the opening day of the Museum, on 5 March.
