Theatres in Porto open earlier to allow audiences to comply with the civic duty to stay at home

Concert halls feature a new timetable, as of 4th November, to enable the audience to accommodate the civic duty to refrain from circulating in public spaces in the city and to be able to attend performances.  

"We are open, we just start earlier" is the message conveyed in a statement by Porto Municipal Theatre. In addition, other cultural equipment in the city have followed the same policy, including the Teatro Nacional São João.

These new measures are in place as of today, 4th November owing to the measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic; the consequence is the timetable adjustment to meet both the performances schedules and the civic duty to refrain from circulating in public spaces.

All concert halls keep open doors if the cultural offer is in place, despite the circumstances, and will do so in compliance with all the health measures issued by the health authorities.

The new timetables can be consulted in both poles of Porto Municipal Tjeatre - Rivoli e Campo Alegre; timetable adjustment means that sessions will start early in the evening, which means that scheduled sessions between 4 and 15 November, from Monday to Friday, will begin late afternoon, at 7.30pm, instead of 9pm.

Saturdays and Sundays keep the usual timetables, at 7pm and 5pm, respectively. The Medeia Filmes cinema sessions at Campo Alegre will also adjust to one session per day, at 6.30pm. All new timetables can be consulted at the Porto Municipal theatre website.

The première of the play Estro/Watts - Poesia da idade do Rock, of the Teatro Experimental do Porto, takes to the stage from 6 to 8 November, already under these new adjustments. The show, directed by Gonçalo Amorim and Paulo Furtado (The Legendary Tigerman), will take to Rivoli on Friday, 6 November, at 7.30pm and Saturday, 7 November, at 7pm.

On Sunday, 8 November, the performance begins at 5pm, with a simultaneous online session at the same hour.
