Similarly, to 2016, Belgian Thierry Neuville was the fastest at Porto Street Stage, on the second day of the Rally de Portugal. In front of a crowd of more than 100 thousand people, Hyundai's pilot not only delivered a real show, but he also consolidated first place on the global leader board.

Over 100 thousand people gathered in Downtown Porto to watch the Street Stage.

Sébastien Ogier (Ford Fiesta), Ott Tänak (Toyota Yaris), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota Yaris) or Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai i20) dropped out the race before getting to Porto.

The racecourse continues with six specials in Vieira do Minho (17,5 km), Cabeceiras de Basto (22,22 km) and the Amarante Special (37,6 km), the longest of the rally.
