The programme "Cultura em Expansão" [Expanding Culture] premieres Friday, July 7, at the Campanhã Parish Auditorium, a theatre experiment themed "The Stage is the City". This initiative features performing arts projects with amateur stage actors.

The Stage is the City aims at promoting an afterthought on issues such as identity and territory and debuts with the "Faith, Charity and Hope" performance by actor and director Tónan Quito.

The performance will be presented July 7 and 8 in the evening and July 9 during the afternoon. It is based on a comedy created in 1932 by Austro-Hungarian playwright Ödön von Horváth. The play depicts a cynical, mean and egotistical society, completely losing its humanity.

The author says: "This could be the topic of all my plays, as they are based in a world where belief in love and hope are a necessary utopia".

The play tells the story of Elisabeth, who desperately seeks to survive. Is it possible to follow one's dreams in times of crisis?

Check the answer to this question in Campanhã, in the Parish Auditorium.
