The TEDxPorto 2019 takes place on 6 April at Porto Customs, and it is scheduled to start at 9am, but check in is open as of 7.30am.

The event focuses on a vital theme that is both comprehensive and transversal in societies nowadays, at all levels: Trust.

Trust plays a pervasive role in society at large, so this year's TEDxPorto organisation invites participants to think about the issue of Trust, as it is seldom acknowledged until it begins to break down, menacing social relationships and political systems whose stability is taken for granted.

The event includes four debate panels and sixteen speakers, on four major themes, namely the Trust in the financial institutions and brands, the Media, Social Media and our own trust, followed by the role of Trust, Technology and Health and the last panel will address the (re)construction of Trust and the Trust between fathers and children.

Also, Zak Ebrahim ? the son of one of the terrorists that planned the attack on the World Trade Center, in 1993, when a truck bomb detonated below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Ebrahim is an activist against violence and terrorism and will deliver his testimony on how the (re)building of trust can lead to a better future.

The programme concludes with journalist and writer, Marcos Piangers, who will discuss the relationship trust between parents and children.

The percussion band "Batucada Radical" will deliver a musical moment circa 7pm during the official closing of the event.
