The show put together by Renaud Herbin, "Wax" can be interpreted as something that is undergoing transformation. The performance features its last performance of the 2017/2018 season at Porto Municipal Theatre, Café Teatro Campo Alegre, on 9 June 2018.

Herbin is a puppet grandmaster and Director of Young Audience Theatre - National Drama Centre of Alsace-Strasbourg. With "Wax", the main "performer" is wax itself as it is an element that can be distorted, bended, and became whatever we wish. It allows creating characters and making them disappear in a flash.

The element of wax is also gentle and wholly adaptable as it enables the character of the girl child in a blue dress a free reign of imagination and endless possibilities to play. This approach leads to a level of complicity between the actors and the spectators.

Thus, the body-object-image relationship is developed and the link with visual and choreographic arts is both deconstructed and created.

"Wax" makes audiences ponder issues such as our own capability to mould out and the ability to exercise the concept of free will, besides the social canons.

Renaud Herbin is a puppeteer, trained at the École Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionnette de Charleville-Mézières. He directed (jointly) the LàOù Company and often creates performances and shows with a stressed sound and visual character.
