Welcome 2019 in style with The New Year's Concert at Coliseu Porto Ageas on 5 January

Coliseu Porto Ageas hosts the New Year's Concert, in partnership with Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto, delivering everyone a New Year's greeting in the spirit of joy and bliss.

Following the long standing tradition of New Year's Concert in Vienna, Strauss, Nicolai and Schostakovich's masterworks will be heard at Coliseu Porto Ageas on 5 January, at 9.30 pm.

The waltzes, polkas and the passion of Nicolai, Schostakovich and Strauss, with Russian maestro Evgeny Bushkov conducting will be on stage by the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra.

Special guest Carl Otto Nicolai will perform The Merry Wives of Windsor, an opera in three acts to a German libretto by Salomon Hermann Mosenthal based on the play 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' by William Shakespeare.
