Winter camellias season in Porto offers spring inspiration

The first weekend of March is indeed the time to celebrate the queen of winter flowers, as camellias are splendid evergreen shrubs that burst into flower, enlivening the city green spaces and gardens.

Porto is the City of Camellias with an exquisite exhibition devoted to some camellia varieties in the São Bento Station, starting at 2.30 pm, on 2 March.

There will be a competition for Best Camellia and Best Camellia of Portuguese origin; as usual, winners will be announced on site, after the opening of the exhibit, at 3.30 pm.

The two-day show is open to the public between 2.30 pm and 7 pm, on Saturday and between 10 am and 7 pm, on Sunday.
