Wisify Tech Solutions created based on technology developed in the University of Porto

The Lipowise technology that enables locating and knowing the percentage of skinfold thickness in a human body was developed at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, later leading to the establishment of Wisify Tech Solutions.

In an era when overweight and malnutrition are the major concerns of the World Health Organisation (WHO), "there is scientific evidence that connects Excess body fat and 50% of chronic diseases, namely type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and high blood-pressure", as explained by Tiago Andrade, one of the inventors of this technology, alongside Ricardo Moura, CEO of the company, "and this technology can help treat these diseases".

Lipowise has "developed connectivity techniques and technologies and accuracy of measurement leading to protocol automation and a position error that shall be less than 3%. Traditional lipo calibrators present error margins that stand at 15% to 40%, regarding constant pressure", explains Ricardo Moura.

Moreover, "it allows a dynamic analysis of tissue compressibility, which is really innovative and of the utmost importance for aesthetic medicine" Ricardo Moura adds.

It is worth mention that Lipowise has patents granted in Portugal, The United States of America and other European countries.

In January 2018, the inventors of Lipowise were in Boston to take part in the "Boston Global Immersion", a programme led by Building Global Innovators and MIT Portugal. The Wisify Tech Solutions was established in the second half of 2018.
