The 500 years of the circumnavigation and the appropriation of identity are some of the key topics for the next edition of the Forum of the Future, an event the city of Porto takes pride in and "we are rolling our sleeves up and set to work", Rui Moreira stated and challenged audiences to think about next year's topic, which, no doubt, "will move hearts and affections, guilt feelings, and varied other feelings".

Saving the best for last when talking about The Forum of the Future in Porto is not accurate at all; In fact, these last days are the icing on the cake, with proposals that will literally satisfy all types of audiences.

Saturday, 10 November, is the last 2018 cycle of Inaugurações Simultâneas [Simultaneous Openings] at Miguel Bombarda District. As of 4 pm, 15 galleries open doors and welcome everyone to experience art in person, the way to truly get a sense of its magnitude.

The Forum of the Future is an annual event that gathers in the city of Porto renowned specialists and thinkers on a specific theme, and this year's edition is devoted to debating ancient times and civilizations in relation with contemporaneity, featuring names suh as Margaret Atwood, Toyo Ito, Walid Raad, Martin Crimp and many more.

Marina Warner, writer and mythology expert and Beatriz Colomina, historian and architecture theorist present "Sympósion", depicting the Socratic tradition of dialogue in light of modern allegories, everyday fare and artistic practice, which are influenced by different viewpoints of love, sexuality, beauty and gender, on 7 November, at 9.30 pm at Rivoli.

Vocal Group from Porto is in Check Republic representing Portugal at the Prague Cantat 2018. This competition gathers 22 vocal bands of 14 countries and it runs till 4 November in Prague.

Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel on 11 December at Casa da Música (CdM). The collective exhibit "Adorno Político" ["Political Adornment", free translation], curated by Tales Frey, inaugurates at Maus Hábitos, in Porto, on 15 November. The exhibit displays a set of artwork by Brazilian artists that counterweights the way one looks at and makes sense of Brazil. The main goal of this event is to look at Brazil and understand it as one and only country, challenging to think of it "outside the box", through the work of artists such as André Parente, Andressa...

Twenty years on, Porto celebrates Saramago's Literature Nobel at Almeida Garrett Municipal Library, located at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. The event is entrance free till room capacity. It is scheduled to start at 9 pm.
