Queer Porto is back in town

Rivoli plays host to the 4th edition of Queer Porto Festival, from 10 to 14 October. The main guest is the American writer Dennis Cooper, who is in Porto to present the film "Permanent Green Light" that he has co-directed with Zac Farley.

Portuguese translator awarded in France

Portuguese translator Elisabeth Monteiro Rodrigues was awarded the Great Translation Prize of the City of Arles for the French edition of the book "Da Família", by Portuguese writer Valério Romão. The prize giving ceremony is scheduled for 9 November at the du Méja Association, in the context of the 35th Literary Translation Meeting in Arles.

Eduarda Neves presents a curatorial programme on visual arts in Porto Planetarium at 6 pm

Gallery owner from Porto is in Europe's top 40 list

The Apollo International Art Magazine has included, for the first time, a Portuguese marchand in the list of the 40 best cultural players in Europe. The gallery owner, from Porto, was selected for the under 40 category. Nuno Centeno was awarded at The Wallace Collection, in London.

Porto Municipal Gallery opens Curveball Memory

Porto Municipal Gallery opens the exhibit ""Curveball Memory", on 6 October. The exhibition is curated by Sofia Lemos, and it is the most significant exhibit developed in Portugal by the "Musa paradisíaca" artistic project created in 2010 by Eduardo Guerra and Miguel Ferrão.

BEAST International Film Festival kicks off today

The 2nd edition of BEAST - International Film Festival kicks off 26 September in Porto. This year's edition is devoted to Ukraine. The programme includes special sessions and competition sessions, as well as masterclasses and workshops that will be held in different places all over the city of Porto, namely Cinema Passos Manuel, Municipal Library Almeida Garrett, Casa das Artes, and OKNA Espaço Cultural, the headquarters of this year's Festival.

Fantasia Cycle at Casa da Música gives you heart-stirring enthusiasm

Casa da Música hosts a concert cycle themed Fantasia, from 18 till 29 September. The cycle includes five concerts, and the repertoire will explore the works by Anderson, Bach, Moreira, Beethoven and Kurtag.
