The Best European Destination Official Website congratulated Rui Moreira on his official Facebook page by saying "Congratulations to all those who put Porto in the light, every day".

Porto won the prestigious title of Best European Destination, for the third time. The voting was resoundingly in favour of the city of Porto, with three times more votes than the Croatian city of Zadar, winner for 2016.

Sara Sampaio, internationally famous Top model and one of Victoria's Secret Angels has voted for Porto as Best European Destination 2017. She has more than 2.5 million followers on Facebook and she is campaigning from Porto!

Porto will be the host of a Global Service Jam: Porto Service Jam 2017, from February 17 to 19, at Porto Design Factory. Gear up with motivation, creativity and willingness to experiment and sign up for Porto Service Jam 2017.

FEUPLink UK, alumni from the Faculty of Engineering of Porto, University of Porto, joined the Winter Run Series UK to raise much-needed funds to help fight cancer.

The play "Stabat Mater Furiosa - Oratória Para Uma Voz" features Friday 10th at 9:30 pm at Teatro do Campo Alegre. This performance invites the audience to ponder upon the meaning of the original mother figure, seen as the origin of human social organisation.

The final results of the voting for Best European Destination 2017 will be announced next Friday, February 10th at 4 pm. This is the third time that Porto is on the race for the title of Best European destination.

The exhibition "5º CADERNO - Essay on the archives of Rivoli", by Nuno Coelho, is on view at the Rivoli, in the foyer on the 3rd floor, from January 21 to March 24. Admission is free.

The 10th Young Researchers Meeting will be held in Porto, Portugal from 8 -10 February 2017, at the Medical Research Centre of the Faculty of Medicine.
