The motto is "Uma caminhada à descoberta da cidade", which goes like this in English: "A walk to discover the city", and it refers to an initiative by the municipal company Ágora and Runporto to provide five kilometre journeys through Porto each weekend, with journeys at 10am and at 10.30am. The goal is to walk through iconic places in the city while improving one's fitness. The first walk is set for 9th August. It sounds good, right?

Monte Aventino is extending its indoor tennis courts with a 3200 square metres nave, with three indoor tennis courts, also adding a fitness centre, a physical therapy room, changerooms, technical offices and tennis court seating for 100 people, as stated by Ágora Porto.

Stadium at University of Porto nearly ready for the new season

The journey to accomplish a brand new University stadium is completed and Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira visited the equipment upon invitation by the Rector of the University of Porto, António Sousa Pereira. The old University Stadium is being renovated since April 2019 and the work done is immediately noticeable for those who visit it, following the investment of circa 2.5 million euros.

Porto City Hall congratulates FC Porto for the 2019/20 National Champions title

Porto City Hall congratulates Futebol Clube do Porto on the victory yesterday, 15th July, in a game against Sporting, in the Dragão Stadium. FC Porto is now National Champion 2019/20. The match ended in a comfortable 2-0 for the "azuis e brancos", with goals by players Danilo and Marega.

Reboot energy levels with Days with Energy in Porto

The programme Days with Energy is now extended to other locations in town. Free classes are held not only on Saturdays but also on Sundays. The current public health situation demands that activities are carried out according to Covid-19 preventive measures, namely social distancing, face masks and hand sanitation. Prior registration is mandatory via email desporto@agoraporto.pt. Applications must be made each week.

Porto will be the home of Tennis, starting this Sunday with the Absolute National Championship

The Invicta will be the stage of the sport of tennis between 12th and 19th July as national tennis players will compete for the absolute titles 2020 in the restored courts at the Monte Aventino Sports Complex. Players such as Pedro Sousa, 110 in the world ranking, Frederico Silva, 193 in the ATP Tennis and also Maria João Koehler, six times champion for women's competitions are the top players to compete in Porto.
