For the 3rd year running more people are living in Porto: by 2019 the number of new residents had surpassed 1.000 new dwellers

It is the largest increase in the past three years. From 2018 to 2019, Porto saw a significant increase of 1.009 inhabitants, according to the he national Institute of Statistics.

Electric charging stations can be set up after draw and should be operational this October

The operators for the ten electric charging stations for automobiles are in place, following the draw held among the candidates. Permits will be dispensed, alongside the respective public space license. Electric charging stations may start operating as of now, with the estimates pointing that by October all equipment is installed.

CIBIO-InBIO team of the University of Porto discovers new bat species in Portugal

A new bat species, officially named (Myotis alcathoe) (aka morcego-de-bigodes de Alcathoe), has been discovered in Portugal, by CIBIO-InBIO team of the University of Porto, in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Researchers believe this species can be found in the entre northern region.

"Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" plays the beginning of the season at Teatro Carlos Alberto

The comedy-ballet type of play by Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, also known as Molière, "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" marks the start of the 2020-2021 season at the National Theatre São João. The show will go onstage at the Theatre Carlos Albert (TeCA) on 6th August and marks, as well, the first classical performance by the company Teatro Palminha Dentada. The play presentation comes to its close on 23rd August.

Air France-KLM add more flights to Porto Airport starting this August

Air France-KLM airline announces resumption of flights to Porto Airport, with three times more flights starting in August. In a statement, the company advances that KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines will increase the flight offer to and from Portugal; thus, the 42 weekly flights operated in July, will increase to 70 this August.
