Brotherhood of the Clérigos pays tribute to D. Américo Aguiar for his work in Porto

D. Américo Aguiar, Auxiliary Bishop of Lisbon, was honoured by the Brotherhood of the Clérigos that does not forget his key role in the rehabilitation works of the Clérigos Church and the cultural revitalisation of the landmark monument in Porto. “This revitalisation gave a new breathe to people in Porto”, emphasized Rui Moreira, during the tribute that gathered several representatives and personalities of Porto’s civil society, and also relied on a word of thanks by Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The creation factor: the grants under the Criatório municipal programme have been approved

The Criatório municipal programme grants were approved during the Municipal Executive Meeting on 31 May. The Criatório commenced on 16 December 2020 and will award 5 grants worth 15 thousand euros, with the goal of promoting the consolidation and establishment of artists, cultural agents and space activities in Porto and, as in previous years, to support projects in the fields of visual arts and curatorship, performing arts, composition, programming and musical performing, literature and critica

Best Of Wine Tourism 2022 applications are open

The applications for the Best Of Wine Tourism are open. Companies that develop enotourism activities in Porto and Douro and the "Vinhos Verdes" Wine Regions are now able to apply to such an award, even more relevant in a time when the tourism sector has been so hard hit by the pandemic. Applications should be submitted until 16 July 2021.

2020 accounts are approved by the Municipal Executive. The execution rate attained 80% in a pandemic year.

The Municipal Executive approved the 2020 Accounting Report. Rui Moreira highlighted that, in a context of an unprecedented pandemic, “budget implementation was probably the best ever”, and taking into account that it reached 79. 8%. As regards social housing, the figures are irrefutable even: the execution rate of total expenditure, “at 100 %”.

Bioblitz is back: it’s all about nature and biodiversity
