This bird can sing! Let’s hear it in another episode by the Environment Department team of Porto City Hall

With this lovely weather for ducks, why not find that nice spot in your couch, or anywhere else indoors and learn a bit more about sparrows? This week’s episode of “De binóculos no sofá” (aka, “with your binoculars in the sofa”), a programme by the Environment Team at Porto City Hall that explains the origin of some popular proverbs about this little bird, the sparrow, which can easily be spotted in the eaves of houses and in the edges of roofs, or even in the city’s gardens.

Dom Carlos I Avenue halted today and tomorrow due to severe weather conditions

Worsening of weather conditions, starting this Friday, 29th January, halts car traffic at Av. Dom Carlos I, in the seafront. Traffic is prohibited starting at 10 pm. Restriction to circulations is to be lifted as soon as weather conditions permit. The situation is re-assed on 30th January.

First institucional Crypto currency company in the world ramps hiring in Porto

Anchorage Digital Bank, the first company to provide crypto custody and safe trading, is hiring in Porto. The company, founded in 2017 by Portuguese Diogo Mónica and American Nathan McCauley, is now regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

The first recognised LEED building in the Iberian Peninsula stands in Porto

The student residence Milestone Porto Asprela achieved the LEED gold certification or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The building, which was formally inaugurated on 19th November 2019, is the first in the Iberian Peninsula to earn this international certification, in the Hospitality typology.

Natixis shifts more than 200 jobs from its headquarters in Paris to Porto

Natixis, the second-largest banking group in France, which inaugurated its Technological and Information Skills Centre in Porto, in 2018, will shift jobs from its Parisian headquarters to the city of Porto. This means that circa 200 work stations will add to Natixis services portfolio in Porto, operating in the former Central Shopping building, in Porto.
