Biennale of Sao Paulo extends to Serralves until October

Projects of 14 artists and collectives are part of the "Live Uncertainty: An exhibition from the 32nd Biennale of São Paulo", showcased in Serralves until October. Paintings, sculptures, videos and installations are dispersed throughout the Serralves Museum and Park, conveying the excellence of a partnership between Fundação Bienal de São Paulo and the Serralves Foundation.

Live Science Centre of Porto is inaugurated and visits are free

The house where Ruben A. and Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen grew up hosts, as of yesterday, the Biodiversity Gallery - Live Science Centre. The official opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic, the Rector of Porto University and the Mayor of Porto.

In that context, the creation of the performance "Savannah" by António Onio features an exotic environment, prone to abrupt change. The performance is about conceptualizing exoticism.

Portugal abolished the death penalty 150 years ago

The Portuguese Photography Centre (CPF) and the Misericordia do Porto Museum (MMIPO) will hold a route reminiscent of the abolishment of the capital punishment in Portugal, themed ""Do Cárcere à Forca" ("From Prison to Hanging" in English). The route evokes the path travelled by those sentenced to death on their way to be hanged. Prior registration is required and tickets cost 5 euros.

Billiards World Cup brings the best professional players to Porto in July

For the fourth year running, Dragão Caixa will host the three-cushion billiards World Cup. The competition will run from July 3 to 9. Entrance is free. This is the 12th time that FC Porto hosts such competition and this year's edition prize money is 52 thousand euros.

Porto Design Biennale is the result of cultural and economic municipal investment

Porto Design Biennale will be brought to life in 2019 as the result of recent and robust municipal investment in culture by the cities of Porto and Matosinhos. Nevertheless, Mayor of Porto and President of the Porto Design Biennale, Rui Moreira, hopes that the budget will be supported by the Government, by Brussels and by private parties. Telephone boxes in Porto get a makeover

Telephone boxes in Porto are getting a makeover; there were around 301 phone boxes in the streets of Porto in 2013. Nowadays, 167 phone boxes were removed and 134 booths will be fully recovered, with the equipment being replaced and completely operational.
