Rita Redshoes in concert at Casa da Música

Portuguese singer Rita Redshoes lights up Casa da Música tonight with her latest album "Her", at 9:30 pm. "Her" was recorded in Berlin, and it was produced by Victor Van Vugt, producer of Nick Cave's seminal album "Murder Ballads" and Beth Orton's "Trailer Park", winner of the prestigious Mercury Prize.

The beginning of a cycle: urban planning for the eastern part of Porto

The eastern part of the city of Porto has already started to work a change. The New Intermodal Station of Campanhã Project is underway, with the winning project focusing on life-quality and congregating a train station and a city park. Former Slaughterhouse of Campanhã will be rehabilitated. Taking up as much land as three football pitches, the space will include workplaces and leisure areas.

French corporate and investment bank, Natixis, relocates part of its group to Porto

According to daily French financial newspaper edited in Paris since 1908, Les Échos, Natixis is relocating a large part of the group to Porto, Portugal and it will boost employment. Nearly 600 jobs will be created over the next three years.

"Blackboard", by Samira Makhmalbaf screened at Campo Alegre

"Blackboards" is an Iranian film directed by young Samira Makhmalbaf, in 2000. It will be screened at Campo Alegre, February 25th at 6:30 pm. The plot focuses on nomadic Kurdish teachers, carrying blackboards on their backs, looking for children, potential students in the hills and villages of Iran, near the Iraqi border.

New "E-Bus" makes Porto a greener city

Public Transportation Company, STCP presented the first bus powered by an electrical motor. The eBUS, as it is called, is currently being tested on two lines of the transportation network in the city of Porto, in the framework of both the renewal of the bus fleet and the bet on environmentally friendly vehicles for the city.

Golden Bear for Best Short Film 2017 was awarded to "Small Town," by Portuguese Diogo Costa Amarante. The short tells the story of Frederico, a six-year-old boy, who finds out at school that people die when their hearts stop beating. This discovery prevents him for sleeping that night.

Port of Leixões will be optimised

Portugal's major seaport, Port of Leixões, located 4 km north of the Douro River, is to be optimised. It involves overall investment of EUR 320 million and it will improve access to the terminal as well as the operation of the container terminal, enabling larger container ships to enter the port and berth at the terminal.

Dreaming of Porto mapped through Nikolas Skilbeck

É inaugurada esta sexta-feira, 17 de fevereiro, pelas 17,30 horas, no Palacete Viscondes de Balsemão, uma instalação de vídeo arte do artista norte-americano Nikolas Skilbeck, intitulada "Dreaming of Porto". O projeto foi realizado no âmbito do programa de Residências Artísticas organizado pela Câmara do Porto e pela cidade de Tours, com apoio da associação Mode dÉmploi e da SKAD.

Duo Za! from Barcelona performs at Rivoli

The Spanish duo Za! will perform at Rivoli's understage and present their last work "Loloism" to the public, this Friday, at 11pm. The duo plays all sorts of instruments, like drums, guitar, keyboard, trumpet, and sampler, in a mixture that they call "post-world music".
