From 6 to 22 September, the University of Porto is back to Porto Book Fair with its own pavilion, and featuring over 200 publishing titles, at bargain prices.

As tradition, since 2014, Porto Book fair is held at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, and this 6th edition runs from 6 to 22 September, under the aegis of clear thinking and the unique voice of Eduardo Lourenço, the author that is honoured this year and who will see his name inscribed in this Avenida das Tílias [Avenue of the Linden].

With its own exhibition space (pavilion 4), the University of Porto will present over 200 sponsored titles by U. Porto Editions, by Instituto Marques da Silva, by Casa-Museu Abel Salazar and the Faculties of Architecture, Sports, Engineering and Arts.

There will be something for everyone at excellent prices, with a discount of 10 to 60 percent over the cover prize, and even some additional discounts with the "book of the day" opportunities that will be offered.

The official programme of Porto book fair includes the book signing sessions, namely on 7 September, at 6pm, with David Leite Viana, author of "Porto Edições -Maputo. (Auto)organização e forma-dinâmica urbana".

Over the weekend, autograph sessions include Manuel João Monte, author of the Theatre play on the Periodic Table, on 14 September, at 6pm, and the following day, on 15 September, UP pavilion features Ana Goios and Margarida Liz Martins, two of the authors of "Pesos e Porções de Alimentos. 3rd Edition", at 6pm, as well.

The last book signing will feature the authors of the work "100 Anos de Relatividade Geral", namely José Carlos Santos and João Nuno Tavares, and it will take place on the penultimate day of the Fair, on 21 September, starting at 4pm.

There are also various cultural activities at the Porto Book Fair, which is another attraction for the visitors, namely cinema screening, debates, workshops, concerts and performances.

Porto Book Fair (PBF) 2019 operating hours are:

- Opening from Monday to Friday at 12 o'clock

- Opening on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 o'clock

- Closing from Sundays to Thursday at 9.30pm

- Closing every Fridays and Saturdays at 11pm

Like last year, the venue is subject to constraints due to the rehabilitation and renovation ongoing at the Rosa Mota Pavilion.
