"A Woman without Love" at Theatre Campo Alegre

In the scope of the cinema cycle devoted to Luis Buñuel, Theatre Campo Alegre screens the film "A Woman without Love" (1951) on 25 July, at 6.30pm and at 10pm.

Rosario lives in Mexico and has a marriage of convenience with her husband Don Carlos Montero, a rigid and conservative antiquarian. When Don Carlos punishes their son Carlitos on account of a misdeed, the boy runs away from home.

Engineer Julio Mistral finds Carlitos and takes him home, becoming a family friend. Soon Rosario and Julio fall in love with each other and have a love affair. Julio invites Rosario to move with him to Brazil with Carlitos but Don Carlos has a heart attack on the day that they would be traveling. Rosario sacrifices her true love and stays with Don Carlos.
