For those seeking a unique cultural getaway in Porto, we offer this guide of must-see art work all over Porto.
From museums, to street art and galleries there's aplenty artwork and masterpieces waiting to be enjoyed at the Invicta. 

If you are an art lover (who isn't?), Porto offers a feast for the eye, from painting to sculpture and urban art to galleries. Take a walk on the city and enjoy!

Mural by Daniel Eime - Mira

Porto is a unique city thanks to its stunning architectural beauty, its history and its inhabitants. World famous artist Daniel Eime, decided to portray the face of a resident of the Ribeirinha area, in the façade of a building located at Square Artur Marcos, in Miragaia parish.

an.fi.tri.ão

Frederico Draw created the an.fi.tri.ão [h.o.s.t], at the Avenue Vímara Peres, next to the upper deck of Bridge Luís I, the aim being an invitation to visiting Porto to everyone who goes there.

The an.fi.tri.ão is, in fact, a portrait of the artist's grandfather and it delights tourists, who can't stop taking pictures of it.

Street art by Mr. Dheo and Hazul

The neighbourhoods of Francos and of Carvalhido are the proof that Porto City Hall bets on diversity and culture everywhere in town. These social housing neighbourhoods were gifted the art work of graffiti artists Mr. Dheo and Hazul, who have painted the façades of two buildings.

Also, Hazul Luzah and Mr. Dheo have created the first legal graffiti in the streets of Porto; it is located in the wall of the parking area of Trindade, and it encompasses a global area of 250 square metres.

The Wall painting features graffiti that covers the themes of hyper-realism and the imagined, fostering the public awareness and appreciation of street artists. This is a highly instagramable place.

D. Quixote & Sancho Pança

Mesk, Fedor and Mots 

The arts district at Miguel Bombarda Street is kind of an open air art gallery. Among other art work, here you can find the Wall painting of D. Quixote & Sancho Pança, by urban artists Mesk, Fedor and Mots, with 130 square metres. 

Vhils

Vhils is a major name in the urban art scene; he is most likely the most international of the Portuguese artists when the issue is garnishing walls.
This is Vhils, aka Alexandre Farto, in town and the first one in a public space. 

The key element of the work is the drawing of an eye that is constantly observing the city. It took three days to complete and it is located at the historical building that houses the "Look at Porto", a 5D cinema.

The Vivian Girls on the Farm

Paula Rego's artwork themed "The Vivian Girls on the Farm" can be enjoyed at the Serralves Foundation. The Portuguese painter, resident in London, showcases the strong surrealistic influences and incredibly intricate scenarios of her work.

"The Vivian Girls on the Farm" painting is part of a series of paintings and it revolves around seven princesses, daughters of Robert Vivian, who have been enslaved and tortured by soldiers.

You will not be disappointed, and after all, it is Serralves you' be visiting.

O Guardador de Sol

O Guardador de Sol (The Sun Keeper) at Bonfim, by José Rodrigues, was created in 1963, and it was part of his thesis in the sculpture degree. It is located at the gardens of the Fine Arts Faculty, among pieces by authors Soares dos Reis and Teixeira Lopes.

The sculpture was first named "Guerreiro" [Warrior], as a symbol of the victory of the Angolan people, the shield reflecting the sun in Angola.

José Rodrigues is also the author of the famous "Cubo" sculpture in Ribeira.

D. Pedro V Statue

The artist Teixeira Lopes (father) created this statue to honour the monarch D. Pedro V, who died at the age of 24, causing great emotional turmoil in Portugal.

It is located at Batalha Square and it was inaugurated in February 1866. It is the first statuary monument in the city. It is placed in an octagonal shaped monument, where the four emblems of the region are highlighted, including, religion, industry, agriculture and arts.

European Bell

The European Bell sculpture, by Rui Ferro, in downtown Porto, is inspired by the cartoon of Iranian artist Mahboobeh Pakdel, winner of the PortoCartoon 2016, and it is a hymn to solidarity and citizenship, representing a cry of help and the hope to build a new utopian civilisation.

Military Museum of Porto and the Little Tin Soldiers

The Military Museum of Porto is located in Bonfim, and its ex-libris is the collection of 16 thousand miniature soldiers representing armies all over the world, which depict the evolution of the warrior from ancient times till present time.
