Are you the entrepreneurial type of person? UPTEC is looking for the next big business idea

Applications are open for the 11th edition of the UPTEC' Startups, the Science and Technology Park of Porto. Deadline is 8th March.

Entrepreneurs with ideas in the fields of arts, science, technology, health and environment can apply to the UPTEC, which is supported by LIPOR, this year.

The Startups' School features a three-month acceleration programme aimed at helping entrepreneurs turn an idea into a business.

Participants take part in workshops on business models, intellectual property, pitch, team building, communication, investment, among others, to perfect their business ideas.

Entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to participate in specialized mentor schemes, as well as to work at the UPTEC spaces and access to networking with partners, investors and entrepreneurs.

The Startups' School "has been a fundamental milestone in supporting UPTEC and accommodating the new ideas that are presented. We seek to provide each entrepreneur the necessary tools to turn his/her idea into a business", states Maria Oliveira, UPTEC Business Director.

The projects that consider a positive impact in the environment can also attend the ClimateLaunchpad, the biggest cleantech business ideas competition in the world.

Supported by LIPOR - Inter-municipal Waste Management Service of Greater Porto, some of this projects will be able to attend the Startups' School for free.

Following 10 editions, 186 supported projects, 452 participants and over 70 new companies established, the UPTEC Startups' School is now looking for impacting ideas in the fields of arts, science, technology, health and environment.

Applications are open and deadline is 8th March. The participation cost is 300€+VAT.
