The "Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira", integrated into the Serralves Foundation area, houses the first exhibition ever to be devoted to French filmmaker Eugène Green, on display from today, 25th November till 6th February 2020, in Porto.

The exhibition is themed "Eugène Green: The Image of the Word" and it features the filmmaker's work on Portuguese culture, to which he has dedicated himself in the past decade.

His unique aesthetics have turned Eugène Green one of the most recognised cinematographers since his film debut "Toute Les Nuits" (2001), which will be debated at the exhibition.

This event also includes a lecture on the World in Cinema, by the French critic Mathias Lavin. Also, Eugène newest film, Atarrabi e Mikelats, shot in the Basque Country and still being edited, will be referenced.

In the meantime, "Lisboa Revisitada", which presents a visit to the Portuguese territory by the filmmaker, gave rise to a gift film to Serralves.

As of 3rd January 2020, the Casa do Cinema features a comprehensive cinema cycle, which includes films proposed by Green, namely "Blow-up", by Michelangelo Antonioni, "Floating Weeds", by Yasujiro Ozu, "Le Parc", by Damien Manivel, "Braguino", by Clément Cogitore, "Conte d'automne", by Eric Rohmer and "Mimosas: La Voie de l'Atlas" by Oliver Laxe.

The exhibition also includes a retrospective of his work. There is also a book presentation, featuring original texts and amply illustrated.
