Six months ago, Emirates opened up the Porto-Dubai route, as of 2nd July 2019, with four weekly flights. The operation has developed very positively, which makes Emirates clearly optimistic regarding its expansion", David Quito states.
Emirates flies four times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Six months past, David Quito, Emirates Country Manager in Portugal, states that the overall view of such operation is clearly positive, stressing the positive results achieved.

"It's been only six months since the Porto-Dubai route started operating, and new routes take time to develop and to consolidate, but the operation has developed very positively, which makes Emirates clearly optimistic regarding its expansion", David Quito states to Publituris.

Emirates Country Manager also enhances that he will not disclose further details on the results, due to "commercial sensitivity", although he adds that the demand meets Emirates expectations.

"This new route Porto-Dubai", furthers states David Quito, "complements the offer that Emirates already had in Lisbon, and it was launched because Emirates realised the market signals reflecting demand primarily on the part of its external markets. Emirates has always seen Porto and the North of Portugal with a high level of development interest, regarding the number of passengers that fly from Lisbon to this region", David Quito enhanced.

Emirates Country Manager to Portugal also stated to Publituris that "Porto has always been a noteworthy destination to foreign markets, which appreciate the history and cultural attraction that Porto offers, namely the famous Port wine, and the privileged location of the river Douro".

And, David Quito has no doubts, also, regarding the relevance this new route has in term of destination, demanded by markets such as United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea that look for the natural beauties and the history of the Invicta, affirming that "this new route will add to the economic growth of porto and the Northern Region, by offering a mix of more complete and excellent product".

Besides the external markets, the new route has been sought by passengers that seek a direct flight from Porto to Dubai, as well as to other destinations within the global Emirates network, namely Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore and Luanda, for business and leisure.

Currently, Emirates flies four times a week to Porto, operating a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, in a three class cabin configuration, featuring eight private suites in first class, 42 business class seats and 310 economy class seats.
