"Ghost Master" elected Best Film of Fantasporto 40th edition

"Ghost Master", by Paul Young, was the winner of Best Film Award at the 40th edition of Fantasporto. The event took place at Rivoli, from 25th February to 8th March. "Dancing Mary", by Japanese director Sabu, was awarded the Special Jury Prize and "Clarita", by Roderick Cabrido, received the Best Director award.

Leif Edlund won Best Actor Prize for "Koko-Di Koko-Da", a Swedish and Danish joint production. The Best actress Award was granted to Christine Reyes, for her role in the film "Untrue".

Best Screenplay was granted to Chris Bavota and Lee Paula Springer, directors of the film "Dead Dicks'", from Canada, and the distinction for best Short was for Spain, with the film "Breaking and entering/Moros en la costa", by Damiá Serra Cauchetiez.

The film "The Soul Conductor", by Ilya Maximov won Best Visual Effects Prize and the film "Fallen", by Lee Jung-Sub received an Honourable Mention of the Jury.

The Jury Award for Portuguese Cinema was awarded to "Bunker", by João Estrada. The documentary "Por Detrás da Moeda", by Luis Moya received an Honourable Mention.

Milcho Manchevski, won the Directors Week Award- Manoel de Oliveira Prize. This is Manchevski's second prize in three participations.
