Israel Galván, one of the most innovative performers of Flamenco, takes the stage, once more, at Rivoli, this 2019/2020 Season to deliver "La fiesta", on 27 September, starting at 9pm.

Galván derives his Flamenco reinvention from his Seville School influences, often stating that "sometimes I just alter the syllables", together with a balance of guitar, singing, and dancing.

Galván first performed in Porto with FLA.CO.MEN during the 2016/2017 Season at Rivoli Theatre.

This time, the artist is accompanied by the Geek Byzantine Ensemble Polytropon choir, and goes back to his essence, his childhood, like a s a virtuous circle that closes "as though he had travelled hundreds of kilometres to go back to the starting point" in a feast that "begun from its end point".

The audience is invited to share this energetic performance and to solve the puzzles of this both personal and collective "fiesta".

Israel Gálvan was born in Seville, in 1973. His parents were flamenco dancers and he started practicing with his father at a very early age. He delivered his first performance when he was five in Seville's tablao, La Trocha.

He pursued studies with Mario Maya and later became the lead dancer in his company, which he founded in 1998. Galván worked with a number of famous names, including Manuela Carrasco, Manuel Soler and Vicente Amigo. He won three of the most prestigious flamenco awards ? the Vicente Escudero Award in 1995, and the El Desplante Award and the I Competition of Young Performers Award in 1996.
