The Argentine-Israeli artist Inés Moldavsky accepted the invitation to revisit her film “The Men behind the Wall”, which was awarded the Golden Bear in the 2018 Berlin Film Festival, and created the project themed Wall גדר جدار.

Inés Moldavsky transforms the exhibit space at the Porto Municipal Gallery by presenting captivating pieces of religious, gender political and cultural talks that were captured through a digital platform. The plot revolves around dating conversations with Palestinian men who live in Gaza and in the West Bank. The exhibition is curated by Guilherme Blanc, Artistic Director of Batalha - Centro de Cinema and Director of the Department of Contemporary Art and Cinema at Ágora, from 2018 to 2020.

This project is particularly relevant as it is presented in a time when the States of Israel and the Palestine are living tense moments, which demonstrate the urgent need to establish a political debate around the issue of the Israeli occupation, under a tone of love, respect and equality.

This Saturday also inaugurates the exhibit themed “Pés de Barro", which offers different approaches on ceramic and pottery works, showcasing tradition and discussing the creative boost of such artwork. The operative concepts for the display are future and clay and artists as Neïl Beloufa, Isabel Carvalho, Gabriel Chaile, Pauline Curnier Jardin, Formabesta (Salvador Cidrás & Juan Cidrás), Tamara Henderson, Ana Jotta and Eduardo Navarro have accepted the invitation by the curators Chus Martínez and Filipa Ramos and have created the “Pés de barro”.

Both exhibitions are entrance free and can be visited until 22 August. Please consult here all information regarding programming and calendar.
