Porto selected to organize the Cities Forum in 2019

The city of Porto was chosen to organise the major event Cities Forum 2019. This will be the time to gather key stakeholders from European, national and local levels to debate the progress of the urban agenda for the EU, the urban dimension of the Cohesion Policy and also the EU response to the urban dimension of the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda.

Following a selection process by the DG REGIO, the European Commission has decided that Porto will host and organize this biennial event, jointly with the European Union.

The former Cities Forum edition, was held in Rotterdam, in 2017, where stakeholders reflected on their current challenges and shared their visions on the way forward towards better urban policy making and urban investments.

The IV Cities Forum will be held in the city of Porto, by the end of 2019, and an estimated 600 participants are expected to attend the meeting to address the theme of urbanity.
