Prince Aga Khan visits Porto on 2 May

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira hosts Prince Aga Khan at Porto City Hall, at 4pm, on 2 May.

Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV is the 49th and current Imam of Nizari Ismailism, a denomination of Isma'ilism within Shia Islam.

He is the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network, one of the largest private development networks in the world. The organisation works toward improvement of the environment, health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private-sector enterprise and the revitalisation of historic cities.

Aga Khan is in Porto accompanied by his brother, Prince Amyn, and will visit Soares dos Reis National Museum to gift a paintwork of the 17th century Portuguese painting, "The Presentation of the Virgin Mary".

Later on, the Prince will be welcomed to Porto City Hall, where he will be bestowed the Keys to the City.
