Irish airliner Ryanair announces new air links from Porto as of the summer of 2019. In total, there will be six new flights to Seville, Alicante, Brive, Cagliari, Marrakesh and Venice (Treviso).

These new routes operated by Ryanair indicate that the low-cost airliner is firmly establishing a network strategy in Portugal.

These new updates were released by Michael O'Leary, the company's CEO, this morning at a press conference, stating that Ryanair intends to invest 100 million euros in Portugal, extending the number of flights operated by the airliner, namely, six new routes in Porto, three in Lisbon, and three in Faro.

According to O'Leary, "this is a significant investment as these are difficult times for airliners".

The investment in Porto Airport is relevant, as there will be three flights a week for the Porto Seville link, and out of the twelve new routes, six flights will operate from Porto Airport.

Alicante, Brive, Cagliari, Marrakesh and Venice (Treviso) will have two weekly flights.

In total, Ryanair operates 57 routes from Porto. It should also be mentioned that the low cost will also strengthen frequencies to Brussels, Dublin, London (Stansted), Luxembourg, Malta and Marseille.
