The rediscovery of silent movies is not lagging behind in Porto, as Casa da Música brings back cinema, from February 15 to 18, with the best movies of all time. It's Invicta.Música.films. week.

This event features two recently recovered silent films: "J'Accuse", by the French filmmaker and pacifist Abel Gance, with music by the also French composer Philippe Schoeller, and the national premiere of the Symphonic Orchestra.

Remix Ensemble and Digitópia present the outcome of the challenge that Casa da Música issued to composer from Porto, Igor C. Silva: to create a musical score for the Portuguese silent movie of 1927, the crime movie "O Táxi 9297", by Reinaldo Ferreira, journalist mostly known as the Repórter X.

The soundtracks of some of the most known films in history are included in the Portuguese Symphonic Band concert, namely the music by Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and John Williams.

"The opening of the festival is a fascinating trip to the Moon, through the lenses of the pioneer of French cinema, Georges Méliès, a 1902 science fiction featured to audiences with live original music written here at Casa da Música, by the Digitópia members", enhances Casa da Música officials, on occasion of the "Viagem: à lua e não só!" ["Trip: to the Moon and more!"], scheduled for 4pm, on 15th February.
