"Dogs Barking at Birds" is the film commissioned by Porto City Hall to Portuguese director Leonor Teles and it is nominated for the Best Short Film category.

Cast and crew are already in Venice and are aiming at awards glory, hand in hand with planetary stars of the likes of Juliette Binoche, Brad Pitt and Meryl Streep.

The film was commissioned by Porto City Hall in the framework of the Cultura em Expansão ["Expanding Culture", free translation], a concept created by Paulo Cunha e Silva, former councilman for Culture, to extend culture to those who have fewer opportunities to be near the cultural processes or activities, will for the first time include all parishes of Porto.

In order to shoot the film, Leonor Teles took up an artistic residency in Porto and conveyed to the screen Porto's people and scene.

The result was the film "Cães que Ladram aos Pássaros", ["Dogs Barking at Birds] that features this year international Short Film competition in Venice.
