The "Cidade Mais" is back with inspiration and imagination at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal

"Imagine" is the theme for this sixth edition of the "Cidade mais" initiative, which runs in Porto from 5 to 7 July, at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. Entrance is free.

The programme features three days of conferences, talks, workshops, open classes, exhibitions, concerts, cinema, markets, guided tours, performances and experience sharing under the motto "Imagine".

This event is organised by the Moving Cause, a non-profit organisation, with the support of Porto City Hall as main partner and Biorumo and Booq as strategic partners.

The main goal is to gather participants in a mission to share knowledge and experiences, as well as debate the best practices regarding sustainability; in short, to make everyone imagine a better world. The festival urges to be creative and add to the debate on "how creative are we?" and how can we imagine a better world, towards a balanced and healthy society.

The "Cidade +" programme features six conferences, 13 workshops, 5 open classes, 3 talks, 2 showcooking sessions and one concert, and also a market for organic products, the Mercadeco.

Imagining the city of Porto in fifty years' time is the theme for the warm-up session of the festival, which is scheduled for 5 July, at 4pm, in the Auditorium of the Almeida Garrett Library (Inside the Gardens).

The first session presents Frederico Fernandes, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Águas do Porto, EM, Artur Basto, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Porto Ambiente, EM, Paulo Calçada, CEO of Porto Digital, and João Neves, Responsible for the Mobility Department at porto City Hall.

Also on Friday, the Brazilian artist Adriana Calcanhotto will lead a conference on the topic "How free is our imagination. At 6.30pm.

Leyla Acarogiu, UN Earth Champion in 2016, and regarded as one of the most innovative environmentalists in the world, will be the keynote speaker in the session "O Bicho-Humano", which is held on Saturday, 6 July, at 9pm.

In addition and as usual, there is music during the festival, with Miguel Ramos launching his first solo album.
