Moscow State Ballet will come to Porto to present Swan Lake, a ballet by Tchaikovsky - Petipa. Audiences can take their seats at Coliseu Porto Ageas, on 19 January, at 7pm.

The ballet tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. The choreographer of the original production was Julius Reisinger and the ballet was premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet, in Moscow, on 4 March 1877.

Most ballet companies base their choreographic and musical stagings on the 1895 revival by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, which was first staged for the Imperial Ballet on 15 January 1895, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.

The world's favourite ballet continues to marvel. This is the opportunity to get to know the narrative and to meet the characters that revive the 19th century classic magic. Over 30 dancers of the Moscow State Ballet take to the stage at Coliseu Porto Ageas with all its beauty and drama to marvel all generations.
