The International conference on architecture and digital technologies happens in Porto

The Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, FAUP organizes the international conference themed "Architecture in the Age of the 4th Industrial Revolution", between 11 and 13 September. This is the result of two institutions combining their annual conferences in the areas of architecture and digital technologies, the eCAADe (Europe) and the SIGraDi (Ibero America).

This is a significant opportunity to debate the relationship between architecture and digital technologies, as well as to have an understanding of the work developed by the scientific community of both eCAADe and SIGraDi 2019, to assess transformations in the architecture subject in the context of digital technologies.

The programme will include an array of sessions, debates, lectures, workshops and additional plenary sessions, on the most varied subjects linked to the main theme.

Sessions take place at FAUP and at Auditorium of Campo Alegre Theatre. The social programme includes visits and walks to the city of Porto.

Mário Carpo, the internationally renowned architectural historian and theorist, Professor of Architectural History and Theory at University College, London and architect João Albuquerque, director and associate member of Danish office BIG, are among the keynote speakers.

This event is supported by Porto City Hall and by Porto Municipal Theatre.
