The University of Porto was awarded the Erasmus+ 2019 Best Practice Awards, granted by the Erasmus+ National Agency for Education and Training and by the National Agency Youth in Action.

The goal is to acknowledge the University's best practices regarding student and staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme.

This prize is the result of a project the University of Porto implemented in 2016, and which spotlights UP's "excellent activity implementation", as well as "excellent global indexes of satisfaction among students and staff".

According to the National Agency, the University of Porto also stands out for "the effective fulfilment of the processes, contents and deadlines, its proactive, creative and dynamic strategy".

"The good procedures implemented by the U. Porto have enabled both students and staff to take part in international mobility programmes, which add to their professional and academic résumé", explains Maria de Lurdes Correia Fernandes, Vice-Rector of the University of Porto.

The Best Practices Awards by AN+EF acknowledge, each year, projects and institutions that display good practices in the scope of Erasmus+ in Portugal. The awarded projects are in the Youth, Education and Training areas and they are assessed according to their impact on transferability and innovation.

The Prize Giving Ceremony took place in the Portuguese city of Évora, on the 10th of November 2019.
