Here's an update: there is still time to attend free skate lessons at Ramalde Sports Park till the end of August. This equipment reopened on 18th May, following the lockdown period due to the pandemic and it has been a success among practitioners and wannabe skaters.

Sessions are scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays, besides the usual weekend sessions, to meet demand, as classes only take 12 participants simultaneously. On week days, sessions take place between 5.30pm and 7.30pm. Saturdays and Sundays, free classes are always between 10am and the strike of noon.

Under the Covid-19 pandemic preventive measures, the space is exclusively available for skaters, who must comply with the guidelines by the DGS.

Each week, every participant must submit her/his appointment via email to desporto@agoraporto.pt, stating name, age (must be over six and less than 60) and the requested day to attend the free skate classes.

The gist of the measures to comply with are as follows: maximum capacity of 12 skaters, compliance with 3 metres distancing among skaters and material and equipment sharing is forbidden, although Ágora will provide helmet and board to those who need them.

It is worth recalling that Porto City Hall invested circa 150 thousand euros in this 950 square meter, designed by architect and skater Francisco Lopez "França", which can house up to 55 skateboarders and skaters simultaneously.

This way, athletes can enjoy a true skate park and not just a street spot, with the venue offering half-pipes, quarter pipes, spine transfers, handrails, fun boxes, vert ramps, pyramids, banked ramps, full pipes, pools, bowls, snake runs, and stair sets, just to mention a few.
