The Scottish band The Waterboys are the newest additions to North Music Festival lineup. The Portuguese band Sensible Soccers will open the concert on 23 May.

The Waterboys were formed in Edinburgh in 1983 by Scottish musician Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Scotland, Ireland and England. They have explored a number of different styles, but their music is mainly a mix of folk music with rock and roll.

The Waterboys come to Porto to present their newest album "Where The Action Is". Mike Scott, the only constant musician of the band will perform hits such as The Whole of the Moon", "Fisherman's Blues", "How Long Will I Love You" or "A Girl Called Johnny".

The Waterboys sound was known as "The Big Music" after a song on their second album, A Pagan Place. This style has influenced other bands, namely U2, Simple Minds, In Tua Nua, Big Country and Hothouse Flowers.

That same evening, on 23 May, the Portuguese band Sensible Soccers takes their new album to the stage of the 4th edition of North Music Festival, a style that can be described by its acoustic sounds, flutes and bass.

North Music Festival runs at Porto Customs, on 22 and 23 May. The Waterboys and Sensible Soccers perform on the same day as the already announced The Script.
