Women in Credit Awards 'Rising star of the year' is from Porto

The Rising Star Of The Year, in the framework of the Women in Credit Awards is a business developer from Porto; Sara Martins works at the Portuguese start-up ITSCREDIT and was granted this award by the British magazine Credit Strategy, published since 1999 and specialized in the area of credit and financial services.

The Women in Credit Awards are attributed every year and aim to recognize women as team and company leaders, while affirming gender equity in the financial industry.

Sara Martins was born in Porto 24 years ago. She graduated at Católica Porto Business School in Management. She has been working in the ITSector Group for two years now, and was closely involved in the launch of ITSCREDIT, a spin-off of ITSector devoted to the development of software for bank credit monitoring.

"I hope this award can serve as an inspiration to attract and retain the talent of many other women to work in the financial area, but also in the technological area, where in Portugal, despite the high rate of employability, women still represent a clear minority", Sara Martins declared.

The winners of the Women in Credit Awards were selected by a panel composed of more than 20 independent judges, who have selected Sara Martins on the grounds of excellence of services and achievements for someone with less than five years of experience, namely commitment to career progression, acquisition of new management skills and implementation of best practices as regards to career evaluation.

ITSCREDIT was launched in 2018 and it is headquartered in Porto. The company operates in foreign markets, and has implemented projects in renowned banking institutions, both in European and in Africa.
