Two hotels of the Invicta are among the supreme tourism players, and it is not a first. The World Travel Awards (WTA) have shortlisted the InterContinental Porto and Crowne Plaza Porto as The best City Hotel in Europe and The Best Conference Hotel in Portugal, respectively.

For the second year running, the Intercontinental hotel was nominated for the award "The best City Hotel in Europe", competing with other hotels in other parts of the world, such as Serbia, Italy, Turkey, Germany, France, Greece, England, Switzerland, Holland and Russia. It stands in downtown Porto and provides guests manifold options to experiencing the city.

As for the Crowne Plaza Porto, the motto "we are all business, mostly" does apply, but it is worth mentioning that guests will be able to enjoy one of the most trendy parts of town.

The winners of this 26th edition will be announced during a ceremony held in Madeira, Portugal, on 8 June, a regional gala award included in the Grand Tour 2019. WTA will also host ceremonies in Montego Bay (Jamaica), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Phu Quoc (Vietnam). The winners will progress to the Grand Final in Muscat (Oman), in November 2019.

World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to reward and celebrate excellence across the tourism industry, including the sectors of travel and hospitality.

The WTA annual programme is renowned as the most prestigious in the global industry, and each year, the WTA Grand Tour includes a series of regional gala ceremonies to recognise excellence within each continent that conclude in a Grand Final at the end of the year.

Each gala ceremony is regarded as a milestone event, attended by the industry's key players and figure heads.

Voting to select the winners in the several categories will be open to the public till 28 April. Registered professional votes are worth double.
