Rivoli features anthological exhibition by Raimund Hoghe with photos by Rosa Frank

Rivoli Theatre is the privileged space for the anthological exhibition of Hoghe's work, themed "Body Landscape", with pictures by photographer Rosa Frank. This exhibit will be on show at Rivoli's main hall from 21 to 31 March.

Esmerine will perform at Rivoli's Understage, on 23 March, at 11 pm

Esmerine, the Canadian modern chamber music group, founded in 2001 by Bruce Cawdron (drums) and Beckie Foon (cello), will be at the Understage, Rivoli, on 23 March at 11 pm. The band is now a core quintet, with percussionist Jamie Thompson, multi-instrumentalist Brian Sanderson and bassist Jéremi Roy. The band's music incorporates genres such as drone music, post punk, and Turkish folk.

Screening of German films "The Marriage of Maria Braun" and "The captain" on March 20 at Rivoli

The small auditorium of Rivoli screens German film shows on March 20, featuring "The Marriage of Maria Braun (German: Die Ehe der Maria Braun) directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder at 6.30 pm, and "The Captain" (German: Der Hauptmann) directed by Robert Schwentke, at 10 pm.

Renato Berta delivers a master class at Rivoli on March 14, starting at 10 am, in the context of the cycle to recap the life work of this Swiss cinematographer and director, a pioneer in the art of cinema photography. This cycle on Renato Berta's works runs from March 14 to 16 and it is jointly organised by Universidade Lusófona do Porto and Porto Municipal Theatre. Entrance is free.

Frost by Sharunas Bartas premieres at Campo Alegre on 1 March

Frost by Sharunas Bartas premieres at Campo Alegre Theatre, on 1 March at 6.30 pm, repeating at 10 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is an extra screening at 3.30 pm. The film was selected as the Lithuanian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, in 2018.

"Que ainda alguém nos invente" premieres at Campo Alegre, on 2 March

"Que ainda alguém nos invente" [May someone invent us still] is a joint cooperation between the Municipal Theatre and the Teatro Griot, which will premiere at Campo Alegre auditorium, on 2 March, starting at 9.30 pm. The performance is repeated on Sunday, 3 March, at 7 pm.

The cycle "Quintas de leitura" features poetry session by Golgona Anghel at Campo Alegre, on 22 February

The auditorium at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre hosts a poetry session in the context of the cultural programme "Quintas de leitura". Golgona Anghel, a Romanian poet and writer based in Portugal, is considered one of the most challenging and critical talents of her generation, and will delight poetry lovers on 22 february at Campo Alegre.

La Mélancolie des Dragons by Philippe Quesne

The Rivoli Grand Auditorium features "La Mélancolie des Dragons », by Philippe Quesne, on 16 February, starting at 9.30 pm. The Director, Quesne stages a diptych show, "La Mélancolie des Dragons". In a magical snowy setting the dragons and their dog will find Snow White, and build a minimalist and multifunctional amusement park.

BEUYS by Andres Veiel premieres on 8 February at Campo Alegre Municipal Theatre
