Artists Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela appointed for the Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize

Following portfolio assessment and appreciation of the work presented, the jury of the first edition of the Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize has announced its decision. The four jurors unanimously agreed to appoint Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela for the Art Prize Paulo Cunha e Silva.

"Get out of my hair" by Porto Puppet Theatre

Porto Puppet Theatre features the performance "Pelos Cabelos", at the Teatro de Belomonte. The show will be on stage from 1 till 8 July. The starting point of this performance is the artwork by João Vaz de Carvalho. The consequence is a performance full of strange characters, of absent and hallucinated looks, where mood and nonsense merge to enliven puppets.

Free behind-the-scenes access to 65 buildings with Open House Porto 2018

The greatest architectural showcase will take place on 30 June and 1 July in Porto, Gaia and Matosinhos, in 2018. The theme for the 4th edition of Open House Porto 2018 is "Industrial Architecture" and this year Open House Porto "intends to make people look at architecture as a whole, not building by building but rather how a city is organised and created", curator and architect Inês Moreira highlighted.

University of Porto honours Siza Vieira

Álvaro Siza Vieira was awarded the Medal of Merit of Porto University. The Portuguese architect, internationally recognised and one of the largest global references of Porto Architecture is the third entity to receive this elevated distinction, by the "genius of his architectural oeuvre".

The passion of the game pictured by designers from the 32 competing countries in the World Football Cup

Exhibition on football themed posters will be on show in the Main Hall of Porto City Council from 14th June to 15th July, to celebrate the World Cup. Designers from the 32 countries competing in the World Cup in Russia, were invited to represent the feeling of the "game".

Salia Sanou takes the concept of displacement and exile to the stage at the Rivoli, on 8 June

Choreographer Salia Sanou, from Burkina Faso, one of the most reputed names in African dance, takes to the stage "Du désir d'horizons", on 8 June, at 9.30 pm at Rivoli. Salia Sanou set up this performance to provide an artistic expression of the symbols of loss and displacements within refugee camps.
